Less than 500 days to go!!
On Sunday, March 14th, it was exactly 500 days until 30,000 Scouts gather together for the next World Scout Jamboree in the south of Sweden. With the countdown on: it’s time to get excited!
To mark the occasion and spread the work, the Jamboree planning team created a small photo challenge. The challenge was to send us a photo of yourself, alone or with other Scouts, showing that there is only 500 days left until the Jamboree.
All the pictures were collected on our Facebook page and posted on the countdown picture blog.
Here is a collage of some of the pictures:

Thanks to everyone for getting involved and see you in Sweden (or should I say, in 483 days!!) |

Jamboree team attend the APR Jamboree
The 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Jamboree took place between 27 December and 3 January. It was the regional jamboree for Scouts from Southeast Asia with participants from Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines and more. The campsite, Mt Makiling, was 90 minutes south of Manila and home to 14,000 Scouts for eight days.
Members of the Planning Team for the 22nd World Scout Jamboree attended the event to promote the Jamboree and see how things were organised there. We ran an exhibition in the APR Village, which was part of one of the programme modules. Here we talked to a lot of the Scouts, informing them all about the Jamboree.

Some of the curious Scouts even dared to try the typical Swedish candy we brought: called “Djungelvrål” (“Jungle Screams”) and “Ahlgrens Bilar” (“Ahlgren’s Cars”). “Djungelvrål” is a very salty liquorice candy and “Ahlgrens Bilar” is a sweet, chewy marshmallow. Make sure you try them when in Sweden in 2011!
We also learned a lot on the Asia-Pacific Jamboree after studying different areas of the camp including the different programme modules, arena events, subcamp events, site services and safety. We would really like to thank all the organisers of the Regional Jamboree who showed us around, answered all our questions and provided us with some great hospitality.
The 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Jamboree was one of the many stops of our Simply Scouting Road Show. As part of the Road Show, members of the Jamboree Planning and Executive Teams will visit different events all over the world to tell Scouts all about the 22nd World Scout Jamboree 2011. We will attend all regional conferences and many large-scale camps. We want to hear what you think about the World Scout Jamboree and Simply Scouting, and of course, encourage you to join the World Scout Jamboree. So if you are visiting any major event the coming year, keep your eyes open for us. If you are the organiser of such an event and want us to come and visit send an e-mail to

New look for website!
You may have noticed a few changes to our website! We have been busy over the last weeks working on a new look, adding information, sections to explore, new photos, content (in English, French and even some Swedish), as well as developing some more fun areas that will be popping up soon.
We haven't finished yet though and plan to keep developing areas right up to 2011, so come back and visit us regularly. Remember to sign up for Aktuellt and look for ways to get involved!

The WSJ2011 webshop is open!
The 22nd World Scout Jamboree profile products were a great success at the Jamboree in the United Kingdom in 2007. We have received many requests for not only badges and pins, but the jackets, fleeces and the backpack as well.
We are very happy that there is so much interest in our products, but unfortunately we can’t send free gifts to everyone that asks for them.
To make it possible for everyone to get hold of a World Scout Jamboree t-shirt or backpack without waiting until 2011, we are now opening our web shop where all the products are available and can be ordered from almost anywhere in the world.
