International Service Team (IST)

Everyone participating in the World Scout Jamboree has to be a member of an organisation that is part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). To check if your organisation or association is a member, access the list of National Scout Organisations on the WOSM website.

To be in the International Service Team (IST) at the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden 2011, you must be an active Scout, and you need to have turned 18 at the start of the camp. That means you must have been born on or before the 24 July 1993.

Members of the IST should be able to speak English and/or French and be prepared to take on any task needed to create the Jamboree. IST must arrive on site 25 July 2011 and can leave 8 August 2011.

The 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden 2011 will have over 6000 Scouts working on the International Service Team. These older Scouts will help with all areas of the Jamboree, making it possible for us to deliver a fantastic experience to all our participants.

To apply to come to the World Scout Jamboree, you need to register with the group of Scouts from your country who are preparing to join the Jamboree. These groups are called National Contingents. The National Contingents will probably start their preparations early, so keep an eye out for their information in your national newsletters, scout magazines, and on your national scout website.
