Invite the World Scout Jamboree

You can’t participate at the Jamboree but do not want to miss the opportunity to experience international scouting?

You think that World Scout Jamboree is too short and you want to experience more unforgettable moments? Then is Home Hospitality the perfect solution for you.

Invite the World Scout Jamboree home.

What is Home Hospitality

An important part of the 22nd World Scout Jamboree is Home Hospitality that means that scouts groups in Scandinavia have the possibility to invite home foreign scouts and experience things together.

You, the host, will show how it is to live and be scout in Scandinavia for your guests.

Home Hospitality is an opportunity to experience international scouting at home and be inspired for your scout work. Those 4 days can be the beginning for a long co-operation. Many scout groups which have taken part in the Home Hospitality during previous Jamborees keep in touch with their hosts and arrange projects together or invite each other to camps. Is your group ready to step in the international scout adventure? Who knows, maybe you will be friends forever!

How does it work?

Home Hospitality is either before or after the camp, between the 24th and 27th July or between 7th and 10th of August, in other words 4 days and 3 nights. Your group can choose the time which fits better.

The guests can sleep in the scout house and /or in families. You decide how many scouts you can take care of. That could be 40, 20 or 10 scouts.

You can co-operate with other scout groups in the area or other organizations, such as Rotary, and arrange the Home Hospitality together. Sure you can take care of more scouts!

Activities and program during the Home Hospitality

You decide what you want to do together with your guests to give them the possibility to experience Scandinavia and its culture. We will provide suggestions for programs to give you more inspiration.

Because the key concepts of the Jamboree are nature, meetings and solidarity we want you to include the following:

  • nature experience, for example an hike, canoeing, sailing or other scout activities

  • cultural experience, for example sightseeing of the town and surroundings

  • food experience, for example a picnic, a barbecue where you prepare scandinavian food and your guest prepare food from their own country.
